candle care

WARNING

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Keep away from anything that can catch fire.

  • Always keep out of reach of kids and pets.

  • Don’t use water to put out a flame — it can cause the wax to splatter.

  • Make sure wicks are standing upright and trimmed to around 7mm before each burn.

  • Burn your candle for the right amount of time for its size — too short or too long can affect how it burns.

  • Stop using your candle when about 10mm of wax remains at the bottom.

  • Only move your candle once it’s completely out, cooled, and the wax is solid again.

  • Always burn on a flat, heat-resistant surface — the jar can get hot!

  • Avoid drafts, fans, or open windows while burning.

  • Don’t use the lid to snuff out the flame.

Candle Care Guide

  1. Trim and center the wicks before each burn to keep the flame clean.

  2. Keep the flame away from the sides of the jar to prevent overheating.

  3. Don’t burn if the jar is cracked, chipped or damaged.

  4. If your candle has more than one wick, light them all each time for an even melt.

  5. Keep the wax free from wick trimmings and debris.

  6. If you notice soot, blow it out, let it cool and wipe the jar with a clean cloth or paper towel.

  7. Pop the lid on when not in use to keep dust away.

  8. Use a snuffer to extinguish if you have one — or blow gently and evenly.

  9. Burn time will vary depending on the scent, environment and how you care for it.

For Wooden Wicks

  1. Always trim to 5–7mm before each burn — wooden wicks need to stay short to stay lit.

  2. Pinch off the charred bits between burns (you can use a wick trimmer).

  3. Let the melt pool reach the edges on the first burn to avoid tunnelling.

  4. If the flame is too small, extinguish, trim off more char and relight.

  5. Wooden wicks burn differently — a soft crackle is normal!

  6. Keep away from drafts as wooden wicks are more sensitive to airflow.
